The San Jose Sharks at 1-2-0, are looking for a win against the St. Louis Blues at 2-1-0, after losing Monday night. The rematch is tonight!
The San Jose Sharks face off against the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday at 9 PM EST. The Sharks lost the first match on Monday but have the ability to beat the Blues. San Jose has played three games so far which all have been pretty close in scoring. The Sharks won their first game against the Arizona Coyotes in a shootout. They lost their second game, against the Coyotes, by two goals with the score being 3-5. And that leaves the Blues game Monday night which had a score of 4-5. San Jose has the potential to defeat the Blues, they just need to stay focused and play better defense.
Killer Sharks
The points leader for the Sharks is Tomas Hertl with six points. In the Sharks’ three games, Hertl has three goals and three assists. The captain, Logan Couture, leads the Sharks with the best plus/minus which currently is plus two. Evander Kane has six penalty minutes so far, which puts him number one in that category.
Team Stats
San Jose is in a three-way tie for last place in the West Division. The competitors being the Los Angeles Kings and the Colorado Avalanche. So going into Wednesday’s game against the Blues, the Sharks have two points. But if you look at the home vs away records, San Jose hasn’t played at home yet. Their away record is 1-2-0. Hopefully, when the Sharks skate on home ice, things will look much better.
Final Thoughts
Even though St. Louis beat San Jose on Monday, the Sharks have the potential to come back and win Wednesday. On Monday, the Sharks had the lead early in the game. The final score was 4-5. So a close game but most of the scoring happened in the second. If the Sharks keep momentum and drive then they stand a fighting chance to defeat the Blues. They have seen how St. Louis plays so now they should be ready for game two.
