In less than one month NFL preseason games will be kicking off. A few short weeks after that, just like every year, NFL teams will need to have trimmed their rosters down to 53 men. Here’s my prediction on who will make the Miami Dolphins’ initial 53-man roster.
Offense
On offense, I predict the Miami Dolphins will keep 26 players. Two quarterbacks, five running backs including a fullback, six wide receivers, four tight ends, and nine offensive linemen.
Quarterbacks x2
Running Backs x5
Alec Ingold (Fullback)
Wide Receivers x6
Cedrick Wilson Jr. Lynn Bowden Jr.
Tight Ends x4
Offensive Line x9
LT – Terron Armstead Larnel Coleman
LG – Liam Eichenberg Robert Jones
C – Connor Williams Michael Deiter
RG – Robert Hunt Solomon Kindley
RT – Austin Jackson
Defense
On the defensive side of the ball, I predict the Dolphins will keep 24 players. Six defensive linemen, eight linebackers, six cornerbacks, and four safeties.
Defensive Line x6
DE – Emmanuel Ogbah Zach Sieler
NT – Raekwon Davis Benito Jones
DE – Christian Wilkins Adam Butler
Linebackers x8
Elandon Roberts Channing Tindall
Andrew Van Ginkel Melvin Ingram III
Cornerbacks x6
Safeties x4
Brandon Jones Clayton Fejedelem
Special Teams x3
On special teams, the Dolphins will keep one of each; placekicker, punter, and long snapper.
Kicker – Jason Sanders
Punter – Thomas Morstead
Long Snapper – Blake Ferguson
NFL rosters are a fluid thing. Players who are on it today, may not be on it when training camp opens. Not even players who make the 53-man roster cuts are safe. As other teams make their cuts, Dolphins General Manager Chris Grier will scour the waiver wires looking for pieces to round out the Dolphins’ 53-man roster. So while this is how I predict the roster will look after initial cuts, it may look quite a bit different when the Dolphins kick off the 2022 season on September 11 at Hard Rock Stadium vs The New England Patriots.
